The Voluntary Pre-kindergarten Education Program (VPK) prepares early learners for kindergarten and beyond, building a strong foundation with developmentally appropriate educational material. The VPK Assistant Teacher instructs 4-year-olds based on their needs and program requirements under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.

As an Assistant Teacher, you are:

  • Caring: Follow licensing guidelines, standards, and grant requirements to ensure daily care.
  • Engaged: Observe, assess, and plan for children; communicate effectively with families.
  • Knowledgeable: Complete extensive training on child care, preschool, and development topics.
  • Creative: Implement curriculum and create fun, interactive learning experiences.

We seek energetic, dependable, passionate individuals with:

  • Associates in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related fields, or an active CDA in Preschool.
  • Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
  • The ability to meet state and center education requirements.
  • Ability to work indoors/outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
