Job summary

State Street is seeking a VP, Workday HCM Senior Solution Consultant to design and build Workday solutions, partnering with HR COEs and internal clients. You will own configuration, security design, and data loads, delivering scalable Workday configurations while guiding stakeholders through trade-offs and release planning.

The role emphasizes deep Workday expertise, cross-module awareness, and mentorship of junior staff within a collaborative HR Technology Solutions team.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience with ownership of design and configuration.
• Deep, hands-on configuration in at least one of: Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Performance Management, Talent, Prism Analytics, or Severance.
• Ability to translate an ambiguous business ask into a Workday design, not just execute a pre-written requirements document.
• Comfort owning configuration in a live production tenant — security and EIB/data load concepts to design solutions with Security/Data Management teams.
• Understanding the broader Workday ecosystem and cross-module implications.
• Strong consulting instincts to push back when simpler, sustainable design exists.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present design options to COE leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with COE stakeholders to gather requirements and understand the business problem.
• Own solution design: business process configuration, calculated fields, condition rules, custom reports, and relevant integrations.
• Configure the Workday solution — this is a build role.
• Collaborate with Security on security design and with Data Management on worker data loads and EIBs.
• Evaluate trade-offs between out-of-the-box Workday functionality and customizations; recommend options.
• Assess cross-COE implications of changes and communicate impact to stakeholders.
• Support release management and advise on feature adoption or deferral.
• Provide architectural input on new HR tech initiatives and build vs. buy decisions.
• Maintain auditable configuration documentation and share design decisions.
• Mentor junior team members on configuration best practices.
