Job summary

Citi, based in New York, seeks an experienced strategist for the Equity Trading Strategy team focused on thematic investing and market commentary. The role interacts with Citi's trading platform, institutional clients, and the Citi Private Bank, coordinating with global CETS and research teams.

The candidate will contribute to building a robust thematic framework, cover US equities, and lead client-facing insights. Strong communication and quantitative skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in a market-facing research or strategy role.
• Familiarity with macro equity, derivatives, delta-one concepts.
• Experience with thematic delta-one and custom baskets.
• Knowledge of market structure and signaling (CTA signaling, vol signals).
• Track record of collaborative equity strategy work with researchers and front-office risk takers.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute a fundamentally based framework for thematic investment, primarily for custom baskets and related products.
• Cover the US equity market with top-down valuation, earnings, options, sector ideas and trade concepts.
• Provide thought leadership for US equity trading and sales.
• Generate formal client recognition for Citi’s US equity strategy product via client votes and external rankings.
• Produce ad hoc tactical market commentary and trade ideas for a wide client base.
• Present content on client calls, conferences, and meetings; manage data requests; provide internal input to senior risk takers.
