Job summary

Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced corporate and technology lawyer to support technology, outsourcing, third-party risk management, cybersecurity, data privacy, AI, and related matters across Mizuho Americas.

The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial and technology agreements, advising on legal risks, and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, hybrid environment. A NY bar JD and 3+ years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. with New York bar admission.
• At least three years of relevant law firm or in-house experience.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating complex technology and commercial contracts.
• Familiarity with outsourcing, cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity, data privacy, and third-party risk management.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to translate laws into practical business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate third-party vendor agreements including outsourcing, cloud/SaaS, and data processing.
• Advise stakeholders on legal risks related to contracting with vendors and related policies.
• Coordinate with experts on IP, data privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution.
• Support third-party risk management and procurement teams as a legal subject matter expert.
• Maintain templates and know-how for sourcing and technology matters.
• Stay current on evolving legal and regulatory developments affecting technology and vendor risk.
