Job summary

WQED Multimedia is seeking a Vice President of Financial Planning and Strategy to lead financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and strategic support. This executive role emphasizes forward-looking planning, revenue diversification, and risk assessment within a nonprofit media organization.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial planning and analysis for nonprofit organizations or corporate finance.
• Experience preparing and presenting financial information to Boards, Finance Committees, or Audit Committees.
• Proven ability to develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, multi-year models, cash flow projections, and scenario analyses.
• Ability to advise senior leadership and translate financial insights into strategic recommendations.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; integrity and sound judgment.
• Experience with nonprofit funding and governance context is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting with department heads.
• Build multi-year financial models to assess sustainability over 3–5 years and beyond.
• Develop scenario/sensitivity analyses for major decisions (revenue, staffing, investments).
• Analyze revenue portfolio for diversification, predictability, and growth (including new sources).
• Translate performance and risks into practical recommendations for leadership.
• Create dashboards and management reporting combining financials, forecasts, and external data.
