Job summary

Relm Insurance seeks a senior Vice President, Casualty Underwriting to lead underwriting across General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability and related lines in the US market. You will drive profitability, manage risk, and foster broker relationships to grow a high-impact casualty portfolio.

The role combines technical underwriting with leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with sales and marketing to optimize results. Based in New York or remote within the US.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ Casualty underwriting and/or broking experience in the US insurance market.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science or related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of US Casualty products and coverages (General Liability, Workers’ Comp, Auto Liability, Umbrella/Excess).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic underwriting initiatives aligned with Relm’s objectives and market conditions.
• Underwrite complex Casualty risks and manage profitable growth opportunities.
• Build broker and client relationships to drive business retention and new opportunities.
• Lead and develop a global underwriting team to sustain efficient workflow and growth.
• Monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies as needed.
