Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose:



The System Architect works within the framework of established operating procedures to implement new or updated technologies in banking application system platforms. The System Architect is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the IBM CM P8, IBM OnDemand, PL Settlement and Intelligent Data extraction platforms and the apps deployed on them. The architect monitors events inside and outside the CM systems to ensure maximum system uptime and works with the application support (Run) team accordingly. The architect provides design direction to multiple agile build teams across multiple platforms. The Architect provides leadership and technical expertise for development and support of the CM P8, OnDemand, PL Settlement and Intelligent Data extraction platforms.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate on technical designs and solutions which consider impacts on overall application architecture.
  • Serve as technical expert on application(s) within team of system engineers.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and provide recommendations to the development team.
  • Drive root cause analysis and ensure consistently high availability for the business to ensure they meet their objectives.
  • Work closely with Agile development team.
  • Identify new opportunities to drive improvements and simplifications through innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and technology standards.
  • Work closely with Synchrony and Supplier technical resources and product managers to deploy built increments to production.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and provide recommendations to the development team
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.



Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Information Technology and Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience in one or multiple IT areas, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with 15+ years of experience in one or multiple IT areas.
  • 10+ years of experience leading a technical team co-located in multiple time zones
  • 10+ years of programming experience in Java, Springboot, React.js and SQL
  • 10+ years of SQLServer Administration, Development and Maintenance
  • 10+ years of FileNET P8 Administration and Development
  • 10+ Experience with Fax solutions, On Prem and Cloud
  • 10+ years of Intelligent Capture Administration, Development and Maintenance (preferably IBM Capture, Kofax Capture, ImageTrust)
  • 10+ years of providing automation solutions utilizing AI and machine learning
  • 10+ years of experience with Document Intelligences (OCR/ICR etc.) Administration, Design and Maintenance (preferably Teleform, Intelligent Capture, Azure Doc AI, AWS Textract)
  • Ability to work with 3rd party APIs
  • Working experience with NDM/FTP protocols and creating jobs
  • Superior oral and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of existing applications and create necessary documentation
  • Practical experience in migrating legacy systems to new platforms
  • Participate in application tuning activities to improve system performance
  • Experience in SDLC processes to include Business Requirements, Design, Build, QA and Control
  • Participate in addressing root cause analyses, incident reports and provide direction in problem resolution
  • Willing to work flexible shift timings to be able to respond to emergencies

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 135,000.00 - 230,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
