Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking a VP, Senior Underwriting Manager for the E&S Property team in Atlanta with hybrid work options.

You will develop and coach a regional underwriting staff, drive performance on new business, retention, and portfolio actions, and manage wholesale broker relationships and referrals. The role requires extensive underwriting expertise, leadership experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years in Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier or Risk Management in Commercial Insurance OR Bachelor’s Degree with 20+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support.
• Experience in E&S Property and at least 2 years of people management.

Zurich E&S is currently looking for a VP, Senior Underwriting Manager for our E&S Property team. This position will be responsible for developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing regional team of Property underwriting staff. Additional responsibilities include managing regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to plan; managing regional wholesale broker relationships; managing underwriter referrals; and maintaining a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk-level challenges.

The VP, Senior Underwriting Manager will be expected to travel as necessary to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships within the specified regions (25%). The position is a critical role in driving a diversified, dynamic and engaging team culture. This position also requires strong technical acumen in underwriting property risks in the E&S segment, experience in overseeing and developing underwriting talent, the ability to manage complex processes, strong wholesale producer engagement and sales skills and a demonstrated ability of profitable portfolio management.

This position will be based out of our Atlanta office. You will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents.

VP Level Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier, or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry
  OR
• Bachelor’s Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry
  AND
• Experience in E&S Property
• 2 or more years of people management experience

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us.The proposed Salary range for this position is $200,000.00 - $285,000.00, with Global Specialities Incentive Plan eligibility set at 50%.
