Job summary

The AI Policy Network in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Vice President of Government Affairs to lead Senate-focused engagement and translate policy vision into durable legislation.

This senior role requires deep Senate relationships, strategic advocacy, and expert policy development. The successful candidate will coordinate with the President of Government Affairs, craft bill language, and build bipartisan coalitions to advance AI safety, national security, and governance objectives in the upper

Qualifications

• 8+ years in federal government affairs, lobbying, or senior Senate staff roles.
• Deep, established relationships with Senate leadership offices and relevant committee staff.
• Proven track record advancing complex technology, national security, or regulatory legislation through the Senate.
• Strong understanding of Senate rules, procedures, and strategic opportunities.
• Experience with technology, AI, national security, or related policy areas.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead Senate-focused legislative strategy and engagement.
• Draft bill language, amendments, hearing questions, testimony, and talking points.
• Organize briefings, meetings, and roundtables with Senators.
• Coordinate cross-bicameral strategy with the President of Government Affairs.
• Translate policy priorities into durable legislation.
