Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a VP, Product Security Architect to provide enterprise-level product security leadership across Synchrony’s application and SaaS ecosystem. This role operates at L13 scope—setting direction, defining standards, and driving adoption at scale—while partnering with product and engineering leaders to embed security into product strategy and modern software delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in security architecture/engineering.
• Experience influencing enterprise-wide security standards.
• Deep knowledge of authentication/authorization, cryptography, secrets management.
• Proven threat modeling and architecture artifacts.
• Secure SDLC and DevSecOps practices experience.
• Experience securing SaaS applications with SSO/federation.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for security architecture and multi-year roadmaps.
• Define portfolio security direction and guardrails.
• Evolve the Application Security Blueprint and reusable patterns.
• Partner with product/engineering to embed security in roadmaps.
• Lead architecture governance and risk remediation.
• Drive threat modeling at scale and document trust boundaries.
• Define API security architectures and secure service-to-service patterns.
• Develop KPIs and report security maturity to executives.
