Position Summary :
The Vice President (VP) of Sales is a critical executive role responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations. This leader will develop and execute the company's sales strategy to drive aggressive revenue growth, expand market share, and ensure our solutions continue to be the standard of care in the industry.
You will lead a national team of sales professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and deep customer partnership. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in the healthcare technology space and a passion for leading teams to achieve extraordinary results.
Essential Job Functions
1. Strategic Leadership & Vision :
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to define and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's long-term goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities, potential markets, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide insightful, data-driven forecasting and budgeting to the executive team and board.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for the company at industry events, with major clients, and to key stakeholders.
2. Revenue Growth & Performance Management :
- Assume full ownership of the company's revenue targets, building and managing a predictable, scalable sales pipeline to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
- Develop and implement key performance metrics (KPIs) for the sales team, holding them accountable for activity levels, pipeline growth, and closing ratios.
- Master the complexities of selling capital equipment, software (SaaS), and service solutions into hospital systems, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and senior living organizations.
- Personally engage in and help close strategic, high-value enterprise deals.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing national sales organization.
- Foster a winning culture centered on our core mission of enabling human caring, celebrating success, and promoting continuous improvement.
- Recruit, hire, and develop world-class sales talent, ensuring the team is structured for optimal performance and scalability.
- Implement robust training programs focused on product knowledge, complex solution selling, and negotiation.
4. Operational Excellence & Collaboration :
- Optimize the sales process, methodologies, and infrastructure (including CRM utilization) to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner closely with Marketing to develop effective lead generation strategies and create compelling sales enablement tools.
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to provide market feedback that informs the product roadmap and future innovation.
- Work with Finance and Operations on pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and sales commission structures.
Required Qualifications :
- Experience : 15+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 7-10 years in a senior sales leadership role.
- Industry Expertise : A proven track record of success within the healthcare technology industry is required. Specific experience with Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS), patient monitoring, nurse call, life safety, or similar capital / SaaS solutions sold into acute care or senior living is highly preferred.
- Customer Focus : Deep experience selling to C-level executives (CNO, CIO, CEO, CFO) and economic buyers within large hospital systems, IDNs, and national senior living chains.
- Leadership : An inspirational and hands-on leader with a history of building, scaling, and mentoring high-performing sales teams across distributed geographies.
- Strategic Acumen : The ability to transition seamlessly between high-level strategic planning and tactical, in-the-weeds execution.
- Data-Driven : A strong command of sales metrics, forecasting, and the use of CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to manage performance and drive decision-making.
- Mission-Aligned : A genuine passion for improving patient safety and healthcare outcomes, with a personal connection to our mission of "enabling human caring."
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is strongly preferred.
- Travel : Willingness to travel up to 50% as required for client meetings, team leadership, and industry events.
