Job summary

SMBC is seeking a Vice President in Charlotte, NC to lead development of scalable Python applications and Azure deployments. The role combines backend and frontend work, including React-based UIs, with a focus on secure, well-tested software in a hybrid work model.

The candidate should bring 7+ years in enterprise systems, plus depth in VaR/Market Risk or Front Office trading platforms and Agile practices. A bachelor’s degree in CS/Math or related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 7+ years experience.
• 5 years enterprise system experience.
• Experience with VaR/Market Risk or Front Office trading platforms.
• Strong Python development and SQL/NoSQL skills; Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly scalable applications in Python framework.
• Create and deploy applications in Azure environment with interconnected components.
• Enhance front-end applications using React JS, HTML5 and CSS3; fix performance bottlenecks.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization across systems and environments.
• Write code to high standards with unit tests and clear technical specifications.
