This position is Winnipeg-based and requires regular travel. The territory includes the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
What is the Retail Sales Team responsible for?The VP, Retail Sales (Wholesaler) works as part of a sales team to achieve a specific sales target with coverage of 500 advisory relationships in Winnipeg/Regina/Saskatoon areas. The incumbent is an experienced financial services sales or business development professional, with strong partnership and business relationship skills.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a VP – External Wholesaler - Winnipeg Based?The Sales Executive/External Wholesaler is a leader in their field and works as part of a sales team to achieve a specific sales target from a select channel of Investment Advisors within the Manitoba/Saskatchewan territory.
Develop a thorough understanding of investment, business development and service needs of approximately 500 selected Investment Advisors by maintaining regular contact with them in one-on-one meetings and branch presentations, via telephone, mail, e-mail, and video calls
Responsible for identifying opportunities to sell and promote Franklin Templeton Investment products at the broker/dealer firm level within a sales territory and communicate those opportunities to the Senior Vice President
Coordinate other team members’, Hybrid Wholesaler and Sales Associate within the defined sales territory to ensure that the focus list of Investment Advisors in the territory is receiving appropriate coverage through execution of the Territory Plan, regular team meetings to review progress and review of the Advisor database
Post-secondary education in a business or related discipline
10+ years of financial services industry experience in a sales or business development capacity essential
Solid understanding of the financial markets, investment process, and securities industry
Canadian Securities Course or other industry designations (CFP, CLU, FCSI, CIM, CFA) highly desired
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of technology from social media, spreadsheets, CRMs to the use of video conferencing technology
Proficient in Microsoft Office products – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
