Job Description

The VP, Rebate and Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) Operations will lead a team of approximately 400 full-time colleagues dedicated to client service excellence, strong financial controls, and technology-driven financial solutions. This role oversees a broad array of financial operations activities for the Caremark Pharmacy Services Segment, including Medicare Part D financial management, rebate financial management, client guarantee management, revenue cycle, pharmacy adjustment services, member financial services, and audit management.

This role is key to supporting CVS’ ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals by optimizing financial performance on behalf of our clients and leading initiatives to modernize operational processes and systems.

Major Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial operations teams managing roughly $500 billion of transactions annually, focusing on operational improvement, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Develop and lead high-performing teams with a customer service mindset, managing employee engagement.
  • Create simplicity and continuously improve products to meet evolving client needs and manage pricing and contractual terms.
  • Partner with FP&A and Accounting teams for faster financial performance insights.
  • Support CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a consumer-centric workforce that reflects our purpose and communities.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in financial operations
  • 10+ years in healthcare, including health insurance, PBM, or pharmacy services
  • Expertise in Finance, Accounting, and Financial Operations principles (GAAP, FP&A, cash management, revenue cycle)
  • Proficiency with analysis and project management tools such as Access, Excel, Visio, MS Project
  • Significant PBM industry knowledge and understanding of contractual terms
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, modeling inclusive behaviors and managing bias
  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Hub offices: Hartford, CT / Woonsocket, RI / Northbrook, IL / Scottsdale, AZ
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)

Compensation & Benefits

The typical pay range is $210,000 - $310,000, depending on experience, education, and location. The role includes eligibility for bonuses, incentives, and equity awards. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, life insurance, disability benefits, well-being programs, education assistance, discounts, and paid time off.
