Job summary

Attaineo in Round Rock, TX seeks a VP of Research & Development to define and execute the company's R&D strategy, delivering innovative drug development and scalable manufacturing processes.

You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Clinical teams, and report updates to the CEO and board. Extensive pharma R&D leadership experience is required.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years in organic synthesis, process development and enabling technologies.
• Experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology small molecule development and/or business development.
• Proven leadership in API, formulation, and product development, preferably cannabis/psychedelic area.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company's R&D strategy and deliver drug development milestones.
• Lead development of chemical synthesis or pathways for compounds of interest aligned with business strategy.
• Provide strategic leadership for cannabis/psychedelic portfolio development and scalable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Clinical teams.
• Communicate development updates and risk assessments to the executive team and board.
• Develop and manage development budget to achieve milestones.
• Mentor and supervise scientific teams; drive QbD product development studies.
• Support regulatory submissions (DMFs, INDs, NDAs) as needed.
