The Vice President – Power Purchasing, Transmission, & Growth will lead high-impact purchasing and insurance strategies that support the company’s power generation, transmission growth, capital investment, operational resilience, and enterprise risk priorities. This executive role will shape sourcing strategies for major equipment, construction services, renewable generation, BESS, transmission-related growth needs, and other critical supply categories, while also overseeing Avangrid’s insurance programs. The successful candidate will bring executive presence, strong commercial judgment, supply‑market expertise, risk‑management discipline, and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams through complex procurement, contracting, insurance, and project‑delivery decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Risk Management, or related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered. 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, commercial operations, insurance, risk financing, or related executive roles. Proven success leading complex organizations, major capital sourcing strategies, high‑value negotiations, enterprise supplier or insurance‑market relationships, and cross‑functional initiatives in a large matrixed environment. Strong executive communication, commercial judgment, financial acumen, negotiation skills, customer orientation, and ability to influence senior stakeholders in ambiguous or high‑stakes situations. Knowledge of procurement governance, contract administration, supplier risk management, insurance and risk financing practices, claims oversight, compliance requirements, market intelligence, and internal controls. Willingness to travel as needed.
Master’s degree, MBA, or relevant professional designation. Experience in the energy, utility, infrastructure, renewable generation, construction, or capital‑project environment. Professional certifications such as C.P.M., C.P.S.M., risk management, insurance, or equivalent credentials. Bilingual English/Spanish capability or experience working with global teams.
