Job summary

Orchestra is seeking an experienced communications, media relations and public affairs strategist to join us as a Vice President in New York. Lead integrated campaigns, counsel clients, and manage junior staff to drive policy outcomes and elevate client brands.

This hybrid in-office role requires 8+ years in strategic communications, strong storytelling, and capacity planning. You will supervise accounts, contribute to business development, and work across earned, owned and paid media.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in strategic communications and media relations in advocacy, politics or government.
• Strong storytelling and ability to create news moments with clear examples.
• Savviness in media relations, pitching and influencer engagement.
• Understanding of New York City and State politics; other geographies valued.
• Experience with thought leadership and executive profile raising a plus.
• Experience in designing media and marketing programs for stakeholder audiences.
• Experience managing reporters and handling rapid response and long-lead stories.
• At least 2 years of team management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of integrated communications strategies including earned, owned, and paid media.
• Drive high-touch client communications with leads, flag concerns and solve problems.
• Manage a team of junior staff and influence deliverables' quality and growth.
• Coordinate across internal and external teams to deploy integrated services.
• Drive new story angles and media opportunities, identifying targets across outlets.
• Lead thought leadership programs and elevate executives' visibility through awards/conferences.
• Work with senior leaders on capacity planning to ensure efficiency.
• Contribute to business development and growth efforts.
