AECOM is seeking a self-driven Transportation Program Executive to serve as VP, Program Management Consultant Lead in the New Jersey and New York metro area. The role requires extensive program, design and construction management experience in transit, rail, highway, bridges and heavy civil projects.

The successful candidate will report to the NY Metro Transportation Lead, lead client liaison activities, drive project delivery and mentor the team across phases, ensuring budget and schedule

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field; 12 years of related experience or equivalent with 4 years of leadership experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to project requirements
  • Professional Engineer license in NY and NJ as preferred

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages the entire project through all phases
  • responsible for delivery of a major program and budget/schedule control
  • Provides leadership to subordinate managers and staff and ensures staffing and policy adherence
  • Acts as primary client liaison and maintains stakeholder relationships

Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a self-driven and motivated Transportation Program Executive with extensive experience to serve as the VP, Program Management Consultant Lead in New Jersey and New York. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career with program, design, and construction management in Transportation, specifically Transit Rail, Highway Bridge and Heavy Civil (Underground) Construction in the New York Metro market. This Vice President level position will report to the NY Metro Transportation Lead.
Responsibilities
  • Directs and manages the entire project through all phases
  • Responsible for delivery of a major program
  • Provides leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and staff
  • Enforces company and project policies
  • Acts as primary liaison between AECOM and client interface
  • Provide regular status briefings to Client
  • Lead issue detection and resolution
  • Confirms compliance with all facets of the project including commercial, design and construction
  • Responsible for budget control, schedule and contract management
  • Ensure proper staffing levels
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and community representatives
  • Implement and oversee a comprehensive risk management strategy for the project
  • Ensure project adherence to sustainability and environmental guidelines
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve project efficiency and outcomes
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related scientific/technical field + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education including 4 years of leadership experience
  • Due to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is required
  • Professional Engineer in NY and NJ
Preferred Requirements
  • 20 years of experience in both design and construction management
  • Experience with similar size projects, including those with aggressive schedules and comprehensive community information programs
  • Construction / project management experience on transportation projects
  • Experience in managing work, scope, budgets and schedules
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within a paperless environment
  • Experience in managing work, scope, budgets and schedules
