Job summary

Phaxis seeks an accomplished Prime Finance Product Control leader in the US, focusing on Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime Brokerage, and Equity Finance. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily and monthly P&L for US Prime Finance, including analyses, reconciliations, and balance sheet attestation.
• Collaborate with trading desk, Treasury, Middle Office/Ops, IT, Market Risk, Financial Reporting, Regulatory, and IPV teams on booking and valuation issues.
• Analyze Funds Transfer Pricing and financial resource consumption for business decisions.
• Represent Product Control in governance, risk forums, audits, and regulatory reviews.
• Serve as main contact for revenue, margin trends, and balance sheet usage with US Prime desk head.
• Support new business and product initiatives by evaluating P&L, valuation, and resources.
• Lead technology and process improvements for the Prime Product Control platform with Tech teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Role Description

This position supports the US Prime business, which includes Cash Prime Brokerage, Synthetic Prime Brokerage, and Equity Finance. As part of the Global Markets Equities division, Prime Finance offers services such as margin financing, securities lending, synthetic financing, delta one and index products, and related clearing and custody services to hedge funds, asset managers, and institutional clients worldwide. The candidate should have 10 years of experience in product control within a Prime Finance environment, with a keen eye for detail and risk management, and the ability to engage with stakeholders across various functions and regions.

• Oversee daily and monthly P&L for US Prime Finance, including analysis, reconciliations, adjustments, and balance sheet attestation.
• Collaborate closely with the trading desk, Treasury, Middle Office/Ops, IT, Market Risk, Financial Reporting, Regulatory, and IPV teams to address issues related to booking, valuation, and financial resources, focusing on leveraged ETF and D1 products.
• Analyze Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and financial resource consumption, providing insights for business decisions.
• Represent Product Control in governance and risk forums, present issues and solutions, and act as the main contact for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Act as the primary contact for the US Prime desk head and senior management regarding revenue, margin trends, and balance sheet usage.
• Support new business and product initiatives by evaluating P&L, valuation, and financial resource implications.
• Lead technology and process improvements for the Prime Product Control platform by collaborating with Technology teams.

Experience, Qualifications, and Education

• 10 years of Product Control experience, with a focus on Prime Finance, Equity Finance, and/or Equity Derivatives; experience with both cash and synthetic prime is preferred.
• Proven experience in managing teams and effectively interacting with front-office and senior Finance stakeholders.
• Strong technical skills in product valuation, accounting, and financial resources; knowledge of US regulatory reporting is beneficial.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting; professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, or CFA are preferred.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement and technology-driven change in a Product Control or Finance setting.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data and automation tools like SQL, Python, VBA, Alteryx, Tableau/Power BI is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex financial information for senior audiences.
