Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Vice President to join its investment team and help lead transactions across the Industrials, Manufacturing, and Aerospace & Defense sectors. The firm targets founder-led and family-owned businesses and seeks an experienced investor to guide portfolio initiatives and value creation.

The VP will source, evaluate, and execute deals, manage due diligence, and mentor junior colleagues while contributing to firm-building efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
Strong transactional experience including financial modeling, LBO analysis, due diligence, and deal execution.
Experience evaluating and monitoring lower middle market investments and portfolio companies.
Background in aerospace, defense, government services (ADGS), industrials, or related sectors preferred.
Excellent analytical, communication, and investment memorandum writing skills.

Responsibilities

Source and evaluate platform and add-on investment opportunities.
Conduct financial modeling, valuation, and underwriting analysis.
Lead commercial, financial, and operational due diligence efforts.
Manage transaction execution from LOI through closing.
Prepare investment committee materials and investment recommendations.
Monitor portfolio company performance and support value creation initiatives.
Assist with add-on acquisitions, integration planning, and strategic growth projects.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to firm-building initiatives.
