Job description

CSC Generation Enterprise (CSC) is an AI-enabled multi-brand platform that acquires and transforms legacy businesses into profitable, digital-first, consumer-centric companies. CSC's platform is built around its core M&A strategy, leveraging automation and AI to drive revenue growth, manage unit margins, and implement expert retail practices. CSC owns and operates more than 10 brands, including Sur La Table, Backcountry, and One Kings Lane. Together, these companies generate over $1 billion in revenue and employ more than 2,000 people across North America. Backed by leading investors, CSC continues to pursue platform and add-on acquisitions rapidly.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Vice President of Private Equity. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee the full M&A lifecycle—from diligence through integration—and lead value-creation initiatives across our portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A opportunities aligned with CSC's sector focus and strategic goals.

What you will do every day:
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and refine CSC's M&A strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth targets.
  • Lead the entire M&A process, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration planning.
  • Negotiate LOIs, purchase agreements, financing structures, and closing documents.
  • Manage post-acquisition operational integration, including system alignment, synergy realization, and performance tracking across portfolio companies.
  • Work with operational teams to develop and execute integration plans, ensuring smooth transitions and synergy realization.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, threats, and opportunities within CSC’s sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including leadership, investors, and partners.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with a record of executing complex M&A transactions.
  • Deep knowledge of the retail and consumer industries, including market dynamics and growth opportunities.
  • Strong financial skills, including modeling, valuation, and deal structuring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence across teams.
  • Leadership experience in managing high-performing teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What we offer:
  • Equity upside— Significant potential tied to portfolio growth.
  • Transformative deal exposure— Lead industry-shaping acquisitions and add marquee transactions to your resume.
  • AI toolkit development— Gain exposure to proprietary AI tools and practices.
  • Career progression— Opportunities for interim or permanent senior roles within portfolio companies.
  • Competitive benefits— Generous PTO, 401(k) match, paid birthday off, and employee discounts.
Interview process:
  • Step 1: Initial contact and introduction to CSC.
  • Step 2: Complete a short AI or product-building challenge.
  • Step 3: Deep-dive interviews focusing on experience, product mindset, and operational thinking.
  • Step 4: Offer and fast decision process for the right candidate.

Salary range: $180,000 - $250,000 per year.
