VP/Principal, Services Business Development-Commercial & New Payment Flows (Open to Remote US)

Overview

Mastercard Services is our professional services and solutions arm, providing customers with value-added services to enhance business performance and consumer experiences. Our diverse Services portfolio includes payments consulting, marketing, analytics and data insights, security solutions, open banking, and more.

The Services Business Development team is seeking a Principal Business Developer to drive growth of our value-added services within the Commercial and New Payment Flows segments.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Lead sales calls and develop new client relationships across all three lines of Services Business for assigned accounts and segments.
  2. Achieve sales targets for existing accounts and contribute to Mastercard’s overall growth.
  3. Identify and understand clients’ implicit and explicit business needs, and focus on critical issues.
  4. Translate client objectives into hypotheses and structure work for large or complex projects.
  5. Participate in pitches, from storyboarding to face-to-face presentations.
  6. Create persuasive, tailored written materials for different audiences.
  7. Contribute to project delivery, identify shortcomings, and implement remedial actions.
  8. Manage knowledge capture and ensure information is accessible firm-wide.
  9. Contribute as a thought leader through articles, blogs, and developing intellectual capital.
  10. Leverage deep knowledge of Mastercard Services capabilities to craft innovative solutions.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience with a consulting firm, bank, or advisory role in marketing services is required.
  • Proven success in selling to senior executives and navigating complex organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Strong sales initiation and development skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with an ability to quantify value.
  • Customer-centric thinking.
  • Previous payments experience is advantageous.
Compensation

Salary ranges vary by location:
- New York City: $206K-$319K
- Purchase: $198K-$306K
