Job summary

X4 Life Sciences is seeking a Director/VP of Bioinformatics & Computational Oncology to lead production-grade pipelines and scale the bioinformatics platform for personalized cancer vaccines.

The role combines hands-on analysis of patient sequencing data with strategic architecture, team-building and collaboration with scientists, clinicians and external partners in a fast-paced, clinical-stage setting.

Qualifications

• Significant industry experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, computational oncology, cancer genomics or a closely related discipline.
• Deep experience working with NGS data (WES, WGS, tumor RNA-seq).
• Strong understanding and practical experience with somatic variant calling and interpretation.
• Experience building production-grade bioinformatics pipelines.
• Strong programming capability in Python and/or R.

Responsibilities

• Own computational analysis supporting individualized cancer vaccine programs from raw patient sequencing data through vaccine design.
• Lead production analysis of tumor/normal WES and WGS and tumor RNA-seq datasets.
• Develop and oversee workflows for somatic SNV/indel calling, copy-number and other genomic alterations, gene-expression analysis, HLA typing, and SV/fusion detection.
• Interpret genomic findings in the context of tumor biology and sequencing limitations.
• Support scientific teams through design review and design-lock activities.
