Opportunity

Responsible for providing financial, credit, and trend analysis for the delivery of the bank’s credit products and services to middle‑market and other business clients and prospects.

How You’ll Make a Difference
  • Independently evaluate and structure lower‑complexity credit requests, including cash flow lending, asset‑based lending, term loans, and commercial real‑estate loans.
  • Perform independent credit analysis and risk assessment of existing credit requests, preparing analyses of financial statements and other third‑party reports such as property appraisals.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit packages and presentations for review by a credit administrator and transactional credit commitment, detailing the financial analysis, risk assessment, and recommendation for loan structure.
  • Develop detailed financial models to forecast future cash flows and stress‑test the borrower’s ability to service debt under various economic scenarios.
  • Analyze key financial metrics such as EBITDA, leverage ratios, fixed‑charge coverage ratios, and working‑capital cycles.
  • Analyze collateral quality, lien position, and personal guarantees from business owners, sponsors, and/or operators.
  • Collaborate with the Relationship Manager to review loan documents prepared by outside law firms or in‑house counsel.
  • Work with the Loan Administration team to obtain due diligence information needed to underwrite the credit request, perform risk rating reviews, and monitor covenant compliance.
  • Review Letters of Interest (LOI) and ensure consistency between loan documents and the credit administration model.
  • Travel to support client relationships with the Relationship Manager when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, staying current with banking regulation and completing required training courses on time.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of appraisals, borrowing base reports, and collateral exams.
  • Complete Problem Loan Status Reports (PLSRs) with guidance from management.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of the borrower’s financial health, collecting and reviewing periodic financial statements, and proactively identifying potential risks or signs of default.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, goal planning, and counseling.
  • Manage, support, coach, and train employees.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field and/or relevant work experience. Formal credit training and/or Intermediate/Financial Accounting 1 and 2 preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial accounting.
  • Experience demonstrating a strong understanding of lending, specifically cash flow and collateral analysis and loan structuring.
  • Knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws, including Regulation Z, Regulation B, Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, RESPA, FCRA, Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Anti‑Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and Community Reinvestment Act
  • Working knowledge of the bank’s loan policies and standards.
  • Strong skills in computer operations and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); IBS and Ncino are a plus.
  • Advanced math skills: calculating interest, percentages, balances, and rates; drafting and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Effective organizational and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Analytical writing skills are required.
  • Decision‑making ability with moderate impact on the work unit and cross‑functional departments.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, train personnel, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations both inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to deal with complex, difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
