Position Overview:

The VP, Physical Security – Retail Delivery will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the Physical Security Program pertaining to the branch and ATM network intrusion detection systems, video surveillance technologies, Physical Security Operations Center (GSOC), and alarm monitoring center. This position plays a vital role in protecting SECU’s personnel, assets, and facilities while ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and compliance guidelines.

Essential Responsibilities:

• (Weighted 25%) Directly responsible for supervising and ensuring proper execution of all aspects of the Physical Security Program, and ensuring staff are qualified, trained, and proficient in their responsibilities. Manage and lead a team of physical security professionals, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and compliance standards. Maintain a constant focus on process improvement while guiding and training staff members.
• (Weighted 25%) Review and approve comprehensive security plans, including the design, installation, and operation of various security devices (video surveillance, intrusion detection, and others) for 275 branches and 800+ ATMs.

• (Weighted 20%) Oversee formal and regular threat and vulnerability assessments of all SECU branch and ATM locations. Identify vulnerabilities and gaps in security posture, develop prioritized recommendations to mitigate risk, and provide justification for mediation efforts. Advance efforts to develop an innovative physical threat and intelligence analysis function by leveraging internal and external partnerships with data and technology providers.
• (Weighted 15%) Manage the development, execution, and ongoing functionality Physical Security Operations Center (GSOC) and alarm monitoring center. Oversee investigations into potential physical security breaches and develop mitigation plans to prevent future incidents.
• (Weighted 5%) Establish qualitative and quantitative metrics to measure the maturity and impact of the Physical Security Program. Create, maintain, and validate documentation for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements.
• (Weighted 10%) Stay informed of emerging security trends, threats, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to recommend enhancements to SECU’s Physical Security Program. Conduct research to stay abreast of security trends and use the knowledge to recommend enhancements to SECU’s physical security standards.

Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

• Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience with recognized leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience with physical access control technologies, including the technical ability to program, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software changes as necessary.
• Minimum GED/High School Diploma
• Certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) is preferred.
• Work independently as well as within a team environment to deliver a high level of service and satisfaction. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) along with organizational skills to coordinate project activities. Must be able to speak English fluently in a professional manner. Attention to detail and the ability to resolve time-sensitive issues in an appropriate manner. Able to prioritize multiple tasks with strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations. Shows initiative and engages in proactive behavior. Ability to research new technology, draft cost analyses, and present to management. Must always maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):

• Batchelor’s Degree
• Preferred 5-7+ years experience
