Job summary

National Parks Conservation Association is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to lead the HR function in Washington, DC (Hybrid). The role partners with the CEO and Board to shape talent strategies, culture, and organizational effectiveness in alignment with NPCA’s mission.

The position oversees compensation, benefits, policy, compliance, and workforce development, driving an inclusive, high‑performing workplace.

Qualifications

• BS degree in HR, psychology, or related discipline.
• MS degree preferred.
• PHR/SHRM-CP certification desirable.
• 9–10 years HR experience, including 5+ years in management/leadership.
• Experience with compensation and health & welfare plan design.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR strategy aligned with NPCA’s mission and goals.
• Advise CEO, Executive Team, and Board on workforce and culture matters.
• Oversee compensation, benefits, and employee experience initiatives.
• Ensure HR policies, compliance, and risk management are robust and proactive.
• Develop and mentor the HR team to meet organizational needs.
