Job summary

Morgan Stanley seeks a seasoned Portfolio Manager for its Outsourced Chief Investment Officer group to lead pension and institutional client portfolios. You will select managers, set asset allocations, and monitor risk across markets, while coordinating with clients and advisors on investment policy and reporting.

The role requires deep knowledge of portfolio theory, investment platforms, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience servicing pensions and institutional accounts in wealth management/investment consulting.
  • Experience with wealth management platforms and vehicles including managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, and alternatives.
  • Global capital markets knowledge with cross-asset expertise.
  • Understanding of modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Portfolio Manager for OCIO Pension clients and manage client portfolios.
  • Determine asset allocation and manager selection; monitor risk.
  • Develop liability-driven investing and total-return strategies.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather actuarial data for asset-liability studies and integrate results.
  • Engage with clients to perform discovery, draft investment policy statements, and provide quarterly reports.
  • Ensure smooth operations with custodians, trading, reporting, and cash flows.
  • Partner with Financial Advisors to win new clients and raise assets.
  • Create institutional content such as white papers for advisors and clients.
