VP Operations - Pediatric Behavioral Health Services

Job Description:

General Description: Reporting to the President of the Children's Division, and under limited direction, the Vice President oversees the operations and is responsible for the financial, clinical, operational, and patient experience outcomes for the Pediatric Behavioral Health service line, including the Behavioral Health Center. Serves as a member of the senior leadership team and works collaboratively with leaders from the administrative staff, management staff, medical staff, OU Health Sciences Center, and other clinical areas to advance the objectives of the facility.

  • Serves as the administrative leader and works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Oklahoma Children's Hospital to develop and implement strategies for achieving the goals of the Pediatric Behavioral Health service line.
  • Establishes a climate that encourages teamwork, promotes collaboration among all employees and physicians, and fosters innovation and transparent communication.
  • Drives a high-reliability culture with transparency, aiming to improve healthcare delivery within a population health framework.
  • Ensures quality of care and cost-effective services across all areas of responsibility, working collaboratively to uphold these standards throughout OU Health.
  • Ensures the organization meets or exceeds quality standards and budget expectations.
  • Supports the Children's Division President in strategic planning and communication of outcomes, and manages related projects.
  • Conducts healthcare and business development research, partnering with senior leaders to analyze and develop strategies for organizational growth and operational efficiencies.
  • Supports enterprise-wide efforts to cascade tactics, strategies, and operations related to the service line, coordinating resources and care delivery.
  • Ensures the Behavioral Health Center complies with standards for psychiatric care as mandated by relevant survey agencies.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with physician and provider partners, serving as a resource to the medical staff.
  • Partners with physicians to improve patient experience, clinical outcomes, quality of care, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with organizational leaders to develop philanthropic strategies supporting service line growth and operational systems.
General Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: MBA or other Master's Degree in relevant area required.

Experience: 7 to 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including inpatient hospital settings. Behavioral health experience preferred.
