Are you a strategic thinker with deep expertise in operational risk? We’re seeking a Vice President to lead New Activities Risk Management and Issues Management for our Branch-wide risk function. In this high-visibility role, you’ll drive critical risk frameworks that directly influence governance, innovation, and regulatory readiness in one of the world’s most complex banking environments—New York City.
As VP, you’ll be responsible for the design, execution, and continuous improvement of two core operational risk programs—ensuring our risk practices stay ahead of regulatory expectations and business change:
New Activities Risk Management
Lead the evaluation and oversight of new products, services, or business changes from a risk and control perspective—ensuring each is fully assessed before implementation.
Issues Management Program
Oversee the lifecycle of risk issues—from identification and remediation through closure—ensuring compliance with Heightened Standards and industry best practices.
Operational Risk Framework Leadership
Enhance and operationalize enterprise-wide risk governance using COSO and other leading frameworks. Act as a trusted SME on risk programs in support of the RCSA.
Team Leadership & Development
Provide training, mentorship, and professional development for risk team members—ensuring program consistency and capability-building across the function.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Engage closely with Business Units, Compliance, Internal Audit, and senior risk leadership to monitor the Branch’s risk profile and ensure timely resolution of emerging issues.
Bachelor’s degree required; CFA, CPA, FRM, or MBA preferred
8+ years of experience in banking, with at least 5 years in operational risk management
5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong command of risk governance, COSO framework, and operational risk methodologies
Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
Confidence working with stakeholders across all levels, including regulators and executive leadership
High Impact: Own enterprise-critical risk programs that directly influence regulatory and business decisions
Leadership Role: Guide and mentor a team of risk professionals in a highly collaborative environment
