VP of West Coast Operations – Discrete Manufacturing

We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Site Leader to oversee all aspects of a discrete manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a high-energy, strategic operator who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and has a proven track record of scaling operations, driving cost savings, and leading from the front.

This is not a desk role—you’ll be highly visible on the floor, working alongside your team to drive performance, accountability, and a strong culture of pride in output.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Culture
  • Lead daily factory operations with an active, on-the-floor presence
  • Host daily morning production meetings and set the tone for the day
  • Develop, mentor, and hold accountable a team of managers and supervisors
  • Build a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and healthy competition across production areas
  • Partner with HR to attract, retain, and develop top talent
  • Foster strong engagement across all levels—from direct labor to executive leadership
Operations & Manufacturing Excellence
  • Own full plant P&L and drive operational performance across production, scheduling, procurement, logistics, and engineering
  • Optimize labor, materials, equipment, and automation to improve efficiency and output
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives—candidates should be able to speak to specific dollar-impact results
  • Implement and refine preventative maintenance and reliability programs to maximize uptime
  • Partner cross-functionally to enhance design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and production quality
  • Execute site-level strategy aligned with broader business objectives
  • Scale plant operations and prepare for future growth, including potential second shift expansion
  • Identify and implement process improvements and standardization initiatives
  • Support capital projects and facility expansion efforts
Finance & Reporting
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Provide regular performance updates and insights to executive leadership
  • Drive accountability through structured daily, weekly, and monthly operating rhythms
What You Bring
  • 15+ years of manufacturing experience, including direct responsibility for a discrete manufacturing site
  • 10+ years in plant leadership or senior operational roles
  • Proven ability to scale operations, improve performance, and implement cost-saving initiatives (with measurable results)
  • Experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing environments
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to connect across all levels of the organization
  • Experience in modular, panelized, or construction-related manufacturing environments is a plus
  • Strong business acumen with P&L ownership experience
  • Ability to operate independently while driving both strategy and execution
  • Early-start, high-visibility role (typical start ~6:00–6:30 AM; daily production meeting at 7:00 AM)
  • Facility currently operates 6 days per week with rotating leadership coverage
  • Approximately 150+ direct employees with additional indirect support staff
  • Fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with evolving processes and strong leadership expectations
Why Join
  • Highly competitive base salary + performance-based bonus
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous PTO and flexible time-off programs
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact in a growing, innovative manufacturing environment
