Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden seeks a Vice President of Budget & Financial Analysis to lead enterprise financial strategy and analysis. You will own the annual and multi-year budget for the Garden’s $100 million operating budget, partnering with executives and the Board to drive resource allocation and risk management.

You will oversee a Grants and Contracts unit, financial systems, and reporting, while developing robust models and executive-quality materials for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or related field.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible financial planning, analysis, budgeting, or related finance experience, with leadership responsibility.
• Expert-level financial modeling and Excel skills; strong presentation and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to executive leadership and the Board.
• Own and refine the multi-year financial model and annual operating plan.
• Oversee budgeting, grants and contracts, and financial reporting functions.
• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals and coordinate cross-functional planning.
• Partner with leaders to monitor performance, report variances, and inform strategic decisions.
