Job description

Reporting to the President, the VP of Solutions has four direct reports: the Practice Directors for Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Process Intelligence & Automation, and Delivery & Product Excellence. Together, this team owns what 3Ci sells and how 3Ci executes, the full build-and-run side of the solutions business.

The VP of Solutions is accountable for the strategy, growth, P&L, and operating discipline of the full technology solutions portfolio. This leader will assess and evolve the practice portfolio, concentrate and deepen 3Ci’s technology partnerships, develop and bring AI-native offerings to market, and build the organizational capability that supports long-term scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide executive leadership and direction to all Practice Directors across the 3Ci solutions portfolio
  • Assess each practice’s market position, growth trajectory, and strategic fit; work with the President and Practice Directors to determine where to accelerate investment, where to evolve the model, and where to identify new opportunities
  • Ensure practices operate as an integrated portfolio, not siloed capabilities, driving cross-practice collaboration, shared methodology, and unified client delivery
  • Set performance expectations, operating standards, and growth targets for each practice
  • Coach, develop, and hold Practice Directors accountable for financial performance, team health, and client outcomes
Solutions Strategy & AI- Native Delivery
  • Define 3Ci’s overall solutions strategy, what we offer, how we package it, and how it creates differentiated value for clients with an AI-native operating philosophy at its core
  • Lead the development of new offerings, solution frameworks, and reusable IP; establish a repeatable process for taking AI-native offerings from concept to revenue
  • Set the internal standard for how 3Ci’s engineers, consultants, and practice teams operate with AI leverage in daily delivery
  • Build the client-facing narrative on AI-augmented delivery, including outcome-based commercial structures and agent-leveraged delivery economics
AI-Native Workforce Transformation
  • Own the strategy for building an AI-native workforce, talent, tooling, and intelligent systems designed as one integrated capability
  • Define the skill profile 3Ci needs to hire toward, and partner with Talent Acquisition to build a pipeline of AI-native practitioners
  • Build and drive a learning and development plan that upskills 3Ci's existing practice teams into AI-native ways of working, not just new hires
  • Own the pace of that transition, balancing near-term delivery needs against the speed of the shift
Delivery Excellence
  • Own the delivery function end-to-end through the Practice Director for Delivery & Product Excellence; set the operating standards, methodology, and margin discipline that practice and delivery teams execute against
  • Ensure delivery is the place where the AI-native operating model is enforced, not just proposed
  • Own the go-to-market strategy for the full solutions portfolio; partner with Sales and Client Services to align solution packaging, pricing, and sales plays to market opportunity
  • Drive practice-led pipeline generation; move 3Ci from a sales-led to a practice-led growth model, with a goal of practices generating 60–70% of solutions pipeline and revenue
  • Personally build new business, this role starts as a strategist and builder but is expected to move into hands‑on business development, establishing trusted executive relationships and directly driving new revenue, not just enabling others to
  • Rationalize and deepen 3Ci’s technology partnership portfolio; negotiate and manage strategic partner agreements, co‑selling motions, and joint go-to-market programs
  • Lead executive-level client engagement for strategic pursuits and major account expansion; represent 3Ci with clients, partners, and at industry events
  • Establish a repeatable process for how 3Ci builds, validates, and brings new offerings to market
  • Own aggregate P&L for the full solutions portfolio; drive revenue growth, margin performance, utilization, and profitability
  • Improve upon portfolio-level reporting, KPIs, and governance that give the President and executive team clear visibility into portfolio health
  • Partner with Finance, Recruiting, and the President to align capacity, hiring, and investment to growth strategy
  • Maintain pricing integrity and margin discipline across all solutions engagements
  • Own year over year rate and pricing strategy
  • Serve as a key member of 3Ci’s executive leadership team, contributing to company strategy, culture, and organizational direction
  • Model the leadership standard for the practice organization, setting the tone for accountability, innovation, and client obsession
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative practice leadership team that operates with trust, urgency, and shared purpose
  • Champion 3Ci’s AI-native transformation internally and externally, ensuring it is reflected in how we hire, deliver, and grow
Decision Rights
  • Define and modify 3Ci’s practice structure, including creating, evolving, or retiring practices
  • Approve solution and offering investments, go-to-market plans, and technology partnership strategy
  • Set performance standards, financial targets, and operating expectations for all Practice Directors
  • Hire, develop, and performance-manage Practice Directors and senior practice leadership
  • Influence pricing strategy, commercial terms, and delivery model design across the portfolio
KEY COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
Experience & Background
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in technology consulting or professional services
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling a multi-practice or multi-capability technology solutions organization, with direct P&L accountability
  • Experience driving a consulting organization through a practice-led transformation, and early, credible progress applying AI to delivery (accelerators, workflow integration, measurable productivity or margin gains)
  • Depth in at least one of 3Ci’s target verticals: financial services, manufacturing, retail (QSR), or energy
  • This role isn't a fit for candidates coming purely from in‑house/corporate roles. The fast‑pivot, sell‑from‑behind‑the‑firewall instincts it demands come from client‑facing consulting, not industry experience. Big Four or large‑SI experience alone won't cut it either; we care more about hands‑on range than pedigree.
Leadership & Commercial Acumen
  • Proven P&L ownership at a portfolio or business unit level with a track record of driving profitable, sustainable growth
  • Strong go‑to‑market instincts, able to translate technical and workforce capabilities into compelling, market-facing value propositions
  • Experience building and managing technology partnership ecosystems that generate real commercial value
  • Credible in executive client conversations with CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, and COOs
AI-Native Fluency
  • Current, hands‑on understanding of the AI landscape, foundation models, agentic systems, automation, data infrastructure, and what it actually means for how enterprises deliver work and structure teams.
  • Real practitioner experience, not just a point of view: has used AI directly in delivery work, built or deployed reusable tools/accelerators, and can speak to a concrete next‑step roadmap to take our teams further.
  • Can explain AI‑driven delivery approaches clearly to both executives and delivery teams, translating the concept into something a client or internal team can actually act on.
Leadership Character
  • Executive presence and credibility, earns trust through depth of knowledge, intellectual honesty, and directness
  • Holds strong opinions loosely: willing to change course when presented with better information and models that behaviour for the team
  • Operates with a bias toward clarity and accountability in all directions
  • Proven ability to develop senior leaders and build high‑performing practice teams
  • Adaptability – fast‑paced environment/pulse of IT market
  • Atlanta-based, or open to relocating. The role requires regular in‑person time with clients and the President, this isn't a remote or fly‑in role. We're happy to consider relocation candidates; no local ties required.
