Job summary

Paces (YC S22) in Brooklyn, NY is hiring its first VP of Product to own strategy across three pods and build the product organization. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will write specs, sit on customer calls, and make hard calls on details to accelerate renewable infrastructure projects using AI-powered due diligence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product, including 3+ years leading product teams.
• B2B AI product experience with $5M+ ARR is ideal.

• Proven pricing and packaging decisions implemented.

We are providing software and services to accelerate power development - unlocking one of the greatest opportunities of our time: transforming how infrastructure gets built and ensuring it's built with renewable energy.

Our Solution

Paces is building the development engine for renewable infrastructure and power projects. We have built Agentic AI that automates early-stage due diligence and pairs it with in-house expertise to accelerate late-stage diligence. The result: projects move from siting to construction-ready in a fraction of the time. Our platform streamlines siting, interconnection, and permitting for renewable energy and data center developers, real estate firms, EV charging companies, and more.

Paces is hiring our first VP of Product, reporting to our CEO and Co-Founder. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will own product strategy across our three pods (Power, Risk, and Platform), build and lead the product org, and stay close enough to the work to write the spec, sit on the customer call, and make the hard calls on the details yourself.

What You’ll Achieve

• Product Strategy: Own the roadmap for a platform that carries a data center or power project from market selection through siting, permitting, and interconnection.
• Metrics driven: Understand the metrics that AI forward products work, and build a product customers reach for daily rather than quarterly.
• Org Management: Hire and coach PMs who can hold their own with a transmission engineer and a staff ML engineer in the same meeting.
• Customer Depth: Spend real time with hyperscalers, data center developers, IPPs, and renewable developers. Turn what you hear into a roadmap engineering can build against without a translation layer.
• AI Product Craft: Ship agentic products that domain experts trust. Set the standard for how we evaluate agent quality, handle failure modes, and decide where a human belongs in the loop.

Requirements

• 8+ years in product, including 3+ years leading product teams. You have hired PMs and managed through pod or group leads.
• You have taken a technical B2B product from early traction to real scale, ideally in the $5M to $50M ARR range.
• You have shipped AI products where accuracy matters and the user is a domain expert, not a consumer.
• Fluency with data-heavy products
• You write clearly. Your specs, memos and updates do the work that would otherwise take a meeting.
• Real opinions on pricing and packaging, and changes to both that you have actually shipped.

Compensation and Benefits

• $240K - $300K base, depending on experience
