Aventis Solutions is supporting an ambitious technology business entering a significant new phase of growth, with an opportunity for a Head of People & Talent (Vice President / VP-level) to establish and lead its people function from the ground up.

This is not a technical role. You do not need to be an engineer or AI specialist. What you do need is the experience and judgement to build the HR, people and talent infrastructure that allows a growing technology business to attract exceptional people, develop its teams and scale effectively.

The business is expanding across marketing, sales, tech: AI, machine learning, data science and AI agents, alongside partnerships with businesses operating within robotics and advanced technology. Its wider operations span technology, property, consumer and retail focused environments, creating a broad and commercially interesting organisation to support.

• Salary: $200,000-300,000 basic + bonus + equity + healthcare allowances + several other perks
• Location: Remote-based with tech hubs in Miami, Florida (HQ) and San Francisco, California
• Future Progression: Lead the HR/people operations to be Chief People Officer (CPO) or similar if desired, or remain as the VP of Talent and recruiting leader. Either way, you'll be part of a game-changing tech start-up poised for significant growth.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone who has built or significantly developed a People, HR or Talent function within a growing business.

You may currently be a Head of People, Head of Talent, People Director, VP or Chief HR or similar, or be operating at a senior level within a smaller organisation and ready to take full ownership.

The key requirement is the ability to take ownership, build structure where there is currently limited infrastructure, and create a people function that can support meaningful growth

Key Experience:

• 7+ years experience: across HR, People, Talent or a combination of these areas
• Technology Industry: Experience operating within a startup, scaleup, or rapidly growing modern organisation such as retail, FinTech, modern hospitality technology, or similar
• People & HR Leadership: Senior experience across People, HR and Talent, with the ability to establish the function, define its priorities and build the infrastructure required for a growing organisation.
• Talent Acquisition: Strong understanding of modern talent acquisition, workforce planning and hiring strategy, with experience building processes that consistently attract high-calibre technical and commercial talent.
• Organisational Development: Experience developing organisational structures, performance frameworks, career pathways and people processes as businesses move through periods of rapid growth.
• Commercial Mindset: A commercially minded approach to People, understanding how hiring, retention, productivity and organisational design directly support business performance and growth.
• Leadership Partnership: Confident working directly with founders, executives and senior leadership teams, providing practical people advice and helping shape organisational decisions.
• Scaleup Environment: Experience operating in a startup, scaleup or similarly fast-moving environment where processes are still being established and the ability to work autonomously is essential.
• Culture & Engagement: Strong understanding of how to build a high-performance culture, maintain engagement and establish the standards, behaviours and values required as the organisation expands.
• People Infrastructure: Hands-on experience implementing HR systems, policies, processes, reporting and governance from an early stage, creating a robust foundation for future growth.

Role Overview:

As Head of Talent Acquisition & Management, you'll lead the company's talent strategy from attraction through to long-term development.

Working closely with executive leadership, you'll identify future capability requirements, develop recruitment strategies, strengthen employer branding, and ensure the organisation continues to attract, engage, and retain exceptional people across every area of the business.

You’ll partner closely with Engineering, AI, Data, Product, Commercial, and Operations leaders to understand hiring priorities while helping build a culture where outstanding talent can thrive.
