Job summary

O’Connor Company, part of the mSupply family, seeks a Vice President of Operations to lead day-to-day operations across multiple branch locations in Lenexa, Kansas. You will oversee safety, budgeting, and performance metrics while shaping long-range strategies.

The role requires 10+ years in operations leadership, strong financial acumen, and the ability to develop teams and drive cost reductions. You’ll collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Operations to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Operations leadership roles, managing multiple sites with permanent and temporary workforce.
• Proven track record of successfully managing matrix operations and teams with strong project management skills.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills with budgeting and cost control.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Strong customer service orientation with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives and connect business strategies with daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership: Drives a strong safety culture and mitigates hazards across locations.
• Strategic Leadership and Process Improvement: implement strategies for safety, productivity, and cost reduction.
• Financial Management: analyze financial statements with focus on on-time delivery and margin improvement.
• Team Leadership: mentor and develop regional operations managers; lead with accountability.
• Performance Metrics: monitor costs vs. budget and communicate variances.
• Run & Scale Operations: coordinate purchasing, receiving, storage, and distribution across sites.
• SOP Implementation: lead regional SOPs aligned with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Cross Department Collaboration: align with Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer Ops.
• Business Development: identify opportunities with Regional Sales to drive growth.
• Cultural Development: foster a positive, collaborative work culture.
