Music Brand - Sales Manager/Director, Partnerships (Sales)

Positions are remote, ideally based out of NY area or Los Angeles Area

Are you interested in working for one of the most iconic music brands? We are seeking a world-class Sales Manager, Partnerships to provide brand leadership as well as create, develop, and execute new partner relationships for effective integrated marketing campaigns that can fully exploit the entire gamut of a name brand music and entertainment media platforms and content.

Job Description:

This role is an execution-oriented position that is both highly strategic and requires a global brand leadership individual with a unique and conceptual approach to sales. This highly demanding position requires a hands-on, “get-it-done mentality.”

This role is high profile both externally and internally. Client interactions will be at the most senior levels externally and directly with the Executive Team internally.

Background:

Company is a 40-year-old global media brand, covering music and alternative culture. Under new management, the company is growing fast (14x revenue growth from 2020 to 2025). Artists gracing our digital covers have recently included Run the Jewels, Machine Gun Kelly, Kehlani, and many more. We have global relationships with companies such as Sony Music, Warner, Universal, and many more.

This is an opportunity for an experienced sales executive to have a major impact on a growing company.

This person will initially be tasked with owning the revenue quota with a wide range of companies including media agencies and brands. They will be responsible for building and developing a business and resource plan to deliver against the quota. The quota will include developing new clients as well as identifying and developing new industry opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. Passion for music
  2. About 10+ years of proven success in digital media sales / content sales / events
  3. Has successfully sold event sponsorships and content programs for at least the most recent 4 to 5 years
  4. Possesses an understanding of the event sponsorship landscape
  5. Experience working with both ad agencies and clients directly
  6. An existing roster of clients and industry relationships
  7. A self-starter and the personality to thrive in a startup environment
  8. Strong work ethic
  9. Previous experience at a publisher, media agency, and/or influencer networks

Duties:

  1. Join the new business development efforts in targeting, researching, and soliciting potential advertisers - digital and experiential/events.
  2. Structure, negotiate, and close complex, sophisticated deals involving top-level decision makers both within advertiser and agency organizations.
  3. Create sales and marketing presentations and programs that distinctively position it as a brand that can be leveraged across varied media platforms to create the most impact for each advertiser and their media plan.
  4. Effectively communicate brand’s product and value proposition to customers.
  5. Consistently qualify, generate and execute opportunities that provide profitable revenue.
  6. Provide accurate pipeline forecasting on a consistent basis.
  7. Build an effective pipeline and execute each phase of the sales process.
  8. Incorporate knowledge of our products, the customer, and the social media marketing space into the sales process and use that knowledge to uncover customer needs and create value-based solutions.
  9. Establish customer relationships that enable you to be viewed as a trusted advisor.
  10. Target, solicit and secure new business by utilizing exemplary sales skills, networking ability, and media tools.
  11. Demonstrate creative leadership in the sales effort to develop new concepts that expand the existing advertiser's base.
  12. Serve as a senior member of our sales and partnership team.
  13. Coordinate regional marketing, business development and sales activities with other team members.

Office/ Location:

Nearly all staff are currently working from home. We have quarterly off-sites and many employees attend concerts and our events together.

The short-term plan is to continue to work from home, but we offer flexible office space situations in Los Angeles and New York for our team members to be able to gather for key meetings.

Profile:

The ideal candidate is an accomplished, reputable media sales executive with a successful track record of creating substantial revenue growth through the creation and implementation of innovative, integrated business development/campaigns across traditional and new media platforms. The candidate will have demonstrated experience working for a prestigious and recognizable brand with a strong identity in the media & entertainment market. They will bring creativity, innovation, and a consultative approach to the organization and provide a high level of strategic thinking as to how to invigorate the business through an integrated marketing approach.
