Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking a VP, Senior Data Scientist – Marketing Intelligence to partner with Enterprise Marketing Strategy and business leaders. You will leverage advanced analytics, ML, experimentation, and AI-assisted tools to drive customer growth and performance.

This role develops predictive and prescriptive models to improve acquisition, engagement, retention, cross-sell, and marketing ROI, with strong modeling, business acumen, and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• 5+ years of data science, ML, or advanced analytics experience.
• Strong modeling, experimentation, and business analytics capabilities.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to review and improve AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Marketing and business leaders to identify opportunities for predictive analytics, customer intelligence, and experimentation
• Design, develop, and validate predictive and prescriptive models including propensity, lead scoring, churn, LTV, segmentation, recommendation, and next-best-action models
• Translate business questions into analytical frameworks, hypotheses, success metrics, and actionable recommendations
• Utilize Databricks and approved AI-assisted tools to accelerate data science workflows with governance
• Design and evaluate A/B tests, test/control methodologies, uplift models, and causal measurement frameworks
• Analyze customer behavior and marketing performance to identify growth opportunities and improve targeting and ROI
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and AI/ML teams to build scalable datasets and production-ready solutions
• Communicate insights and financial impact to stakeholders and executives
• Establish best practices for modeling, validation, experimentation, and responsible AI
• Ensure privacy, governance, fairness, explainability in analytics
