Job summary

Blacksmith Agency in Raleigh, NC is seeking a VP of Business Development for Multifamily to own the largest multi-location deals from the first meeting with ownership to the signed contract. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, targeting portfolios that span multiple locations and require strategic, high-value negotiations.

You will close $1M+ annually, manage end-to-end cycles over 3–12 months, and coordinate with owners, regional operators and marketing leaders.

Qualifications

• A record of closing $1M+ a year on large, multi-location or enterprise accounts.
• Selling into multifamily groups, or marketing and agency services to similar multi-location buyers.
• Long, consultative cycles with several decision makers.
• You would rather close business than manage people.

No direct reports. This is an individual contributor seat going after strategic, multi-location multifamily accounts: large groups you open and close yourself.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is an AI-first digital agency running websites, SEO and paid media for multifamily owners and property management groups running large portfolios. As VP of Business Development for Multifamily, you own our largest multi-location multifamily deals, from the first meeting with ownership to the signed contract. One win covers many locations, so each deal is large, multi-stakeholder and worth the work. Our sales development team and inbound put qualified meetings with these groups on your calendar, so your time goes to closing.

The seat

• $2M annual quota, carried on a small number of large accounts.
• Leads fed to you: meetings with multifamily owners and property management groups running large portfolios, booked by our sales development team or inbound.
• No management. No team to build, hire or run.
• Strategic accounts: multifamily portfolios with many locations, where one signed deal covers the whole group and opens the next.
