Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a VP of Engineering - Datacenter to spearhead the build-out of GPU deployments in colo data centers across the United States. You will own projects end to end, from site selection to hardware procurement and ongoing operations.

You will collaborate with colo capacity managers and the engineering team to ensure GPUs are provisioned and managed programmatically, while growing a capable onsite team and maintaining budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience building GPU deployments end-to-end in data center environments.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and processes.
• Knowledge of GPU hardware market and procurement workflows.
• Proven ability to lead and scale small teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end rollout of GPU deployments in colo data centers.
• Collaborate with engineering to align hardware with software expectations.
• Design BOMs and networking architectures for GPU clusters.
• Oversee procurement, budgets, timelines, and risk management.
• Scale the site operations team and establish maintenance protocols.
• Mentor teammates and share best practices.

The company is inviting applications from experienced professionals for the role of VP of Engineering - Datacenter to lead the build-out of new GPU deployments in colocation data centres. The ideal candidate will own these projects end to end.

Responsibilities:

• Working with colo capacity managers for site selection
• Working with engineering team to ensure GPUs match expectations and can be managed programmatically
• Designing the bill of materials
• Designing networking architecture
• Managing the procurement process of all hardware
• Designing processes and teaching the team best practices
• Manage onsite hands for racking, maintenance, and repairs
• Managing budget, timelines, and associated risks
• Grow out a team to manage the sites

Skills/Must have:

• Successfully managed and built out a GPU deployment end to end
• Deep technical understanding of data center infrastructure and processes
• Deep understanding of current GPU hardware market and procurement processes
• Experience managing a small team of highly motivated individuals
