General Purpose and Scope of Position: The Vice President of Branded Technology and Biological Solutions is a key leadership role responsible for guiding the strategic direction, development, and commercialization of Wilbur-Ellis Company’s branded product portfolio. This includes crop protection, actives, adjuvants, Pro Markets products, value-added nutrition products, and Biological Solutions. The role oversees Research & Development, Branded Territory Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Label Regulatory Department, Data Technicians, and Formulation Chemists.

This is a fully remote position, though candidates near Denver, CO are preferred. The role requires up to 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop strategic roadmaps for the Branded Tech Portfolio based on data, company strategy, and collaboration with business lines, adjusting as customer needs evolve.
  2. Oversee product innovation from ideation through R&D, formulation, testing, and market launch, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  3. Manage and optimize the product portfolio, including pricing, brand positioning, and lifecycle management to maximize market share and profitability.
  4. Evaluate market trends, grower needs, and emerging technologies to guide product innovation and expansion.
  5. Originate new products to meet customer needs and strategic goals.
  6. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external suppliers and vendors to foster collaboration and innovation.
  7. Communicate strategy and goals to Portfolio Managers and ensure execution of strategic plans.
  8. Oversee field trials and data collection for registration, marketing, and sales support.
  9. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  10. Manage prioritization and completion of active projects.
  11. Negotiate legal contracts with technology partners to protect intellectual property.
  12. Collaborate with business lines to improve efficiency and expand outside traditional agriculture markets.
  13. Forecast raw material needs with manufacturing to optimize seasonal product requirements.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
  • Deep understanding of crops, technologies, and modern farming practices, including soil and plant analysis, crop protection, adjuvants, and nutrition recommendations.
  • Proven leadership to develop and motivate teams with clear vision setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture required; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Strong industry relationships, negotiation skills, and experience managing agricultural research programs.
  • Experience managing P&L and building cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
