Job summary

Barclays is seeking a VP – Macro FX Markets Strategy to drive key views in rates and FX markets for the region and to help develop Emerging Market top-down views. The role emphasizes communication, quantitative analysis, and advanced econometric skills, with preferred experience in Global/Latin American fixed income.

Spanish or Portuguese is a plus. The position is located in New York, NY, and regulated by FINRA.

Qualifications

• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, methodical in approach.
• Experience with large data sets, dashboards, and data scraping.
• Advanced programming and econometric skills (Python, R), plus Excel/PowerPoint.
• Experience with Global or Latin American fixed income markets.
• Spanish or Portuguese proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market, sector and economic data to develop investment theses for coverage universe.
• Produce long-dated thematic research notes and company/sector notes.
• Present research views to Barclays clients and at events; communicate clearly.
• Collaborate with Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and stakeholders to ensure compliant delivery of research.
• Identify and mitigate risk, strengthen controls, and align with business strategies.
