Job summary

Harrington Starr is seeking an experienced Investment Data Engineer for a high-impact VP-level contract within a Global Private Bank's Private Markets Data & Analytics team. The role focuses on ownership across the data platform, integration, and architecture, with hands-on engineering and strategic influence.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL Server engineering and database architecture experience.
• Deep experience building data platforms and integration solutions.
• Background within banking, asset management, private markets or financial services.
• Ability to operate across architecture and hands-on engineering.
• Track record of building or materially enhancing data capabilities, rather than simply supporting established platforms.
• Confidence dealing directly with senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with complex investment or financial datasets would be particularly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing SQL Server database architecture.
• Building robust data integration capabilities across the Private Markets environment.
• Developing and enhancing the underlying data platform.
• Taking ownership of complex investment datasets from ingestion through to consumption.
• Improving data structures, quality and accessibility for analytics and business users.
• Working directly with senior investment, data and technology stakeholders.
• Making pragmatic architectural decisions rather than simply working through a delivery backlog.
