The North America Data Organization is responsible for developing and implementing organizational data strategy, leading data and analytics capabilities to enable better business outcomes, and driving productization and innovation of data usage across QBE NA. The team ensures that QBE NA leverages data as a driver for business value enablement through effective collaboration across our business and functional teams. The VP, Insights & Analytics Innovation Leader will lead a team of experts responsible for translating complex data inputs into clear and actionable insights for business and functional teams to support the achievement of strategic NA business objectives. This leader will ensure the successful delivery and continued optimization of best-in-class data analytics products, services, and solutions to support business and functional teams, while working toward next-generation analytics capabilities across the portfolio to improve self-service functionality, uncover non-obvious value drivers, and enhance near-real-time delivery of insights. The VP is expected to work in close partnership with NA Data, IT, data science, digital, business, and functional leaders, and external partners. The role will act in an advisory capacity to enable data-driven decision-making across NA business and functional teams. This role will report directly to QBE NA's Head of Data and will be a member of the NA Data Leadership Team.
Location: New York City (55 Water Street, NY)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
The salary range for this role is between $183,000 and $275,000. The offer will be based on the role's complexity, location, and the candidate's background, including education and experience. Beyond base salary, employees are eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus based on performance. Create, own, and optimize a suite of compelling data analytics products, services, and solutions that translate complex data inputs into actionable insights to drive business, functional, and strategic priorities across NAO.
Partner with NA Data leadership, IT, data science, and digital teams to ensure analytics product delivery aligns with business value objectives.
Translate trends and non-obvious data insights into actionable strategies to accelerate decision-making and improve productivity. Support strategic priorities across various teams including Specialty, Commercial, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, and Finance.
Operationalize and continuously optimize the 'productization' of analytics delivery in partnership with the Data Product and Platforms team.
Support the establishment of UX capabilities (wireframing, prototyping, design libraries) to enhance customer-centric data design, in partnership with the Data Design team.
Influence the data capabilities roadmap by advancing data visualization, self-service functionality, and near-real-time insights delivery.
Collaborate with IT delivery, actuarial, data science, and business groups on analytic delivery efforts.
Maintain expertise in data analytics, including data aggregation, wrangling, modeling, visualization, and web technologies (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, Angular, Node.js).
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
10+ years relevant experience.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to influence at all levels.
Experience translating strategic objectives into analytic requirements, with a background in analytics, data science, and AI/ML at Fortune 500 companies.
Proficiency in statistical packages (SAS, R, Python, Stata), data visualization software, and open-source web technologies.
Experience working with actuarial, data science, technical, and business teams to develop critical analytics solutions.
Comfort with ambiguity, fast-paced environments, and technical leadership.
Project management skills including planning, issue management, and reporting.
