Job Overview

The Vice President, Indirect Procurement provides enterprise-level leadership for the strategy, governance, and execution of indirect procurement across DePuy Synthes. This role impacts cost optimization, supplier performance, risk management, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing indirect procurement organization (recruitment, talent development, succession planning).
• Lead global indirect procurement strategy across IT, professional services, facilities, marketing, and other indirect categories.
• Champion and execute enterprise change initiatives (operating model evolution, digital procurement enablement, business separation activities).
• Partner with senior business leaders to align procurement strategy with priorities, growth, and transformation.
• Drive cost management, productivity, and value-creation; deliver on service quality, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Lead supplier strategy: selection, performance management, relationship governance, and risk management (with cross‑functional input).
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and others on contracting standards, regulatory requirements, financial controls, and budgeted savings.
• Establish and oversee governance frameworks for compliant, ethical, value-driven sourcing and contracting.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related). MBA/advanced degree preferred.
• Required Experience/Skills: 10–15+ years procurement/sourcing/consulting leadership; global enterprise indirect procurement leadership; develop/execute indirect sourcing strategies with measurable impact; lead senior teams in matrixed organizations; influence executive stakeholders and suppliers; deep sourcing/contracting/supplier management/procurement governance knowledge.
• Preferred: Medical devices/healthcare/life sciences or other regulated industry experience; large-scale transformation (incl. separation/operating model change); digital procurement platforms/analytics expertise; global supplier ecosystem management and complex negotiations; change leadership and organizational development.
• Other: English required; travel ~25–30%; CPSM/CIPS preferred but not required.
