About the Role

As a Group Creative Director, you'll be responsible for managing, guiding and creating the communication layer of a brand's vision. This is a leadership role within the agency, with accountability for the health of both the brands you manage and the agency at large. In this role, you must inspire the creativity and strategic thinking of both your team and those around you. You should strive to bring experimentation where it's fitting and act as a teacher of curiosity. This role also requires you to be highly involved with clients, pitching work and presenting the capabilities of the department. You should be proficient in understanding how to align client needs with the agency's model.

Under your purview is the entire creative team, but you will have a smaller subset of direct reports. While you might partner with another GCD, Head of Design, or Head of Strategy at the agency, you're mainly responsible for the creative direction.

Responsibilities
  1. Creative Steward - Be the creative steward for the brands in your portfolio. This includes working with the internal brand and strategy team to help set the tone and vision for the brand. Also includes monitoring and spot-checking all the creative work that will ultimately make its way to the client.
  2. Storytell - Help storytell ideas for clients, internal teams, and your own creative teams. Clarity is key. Ensure the story makes sense to the layman, especially when finalizing presentations.
  3. Presenting to clients - Develop relationships with clients through presentations and support, showcasing the work and building trust.
  4. Develop client relationships - Foster trust-based relationships, ideally becoming comfortable communicating via text within a year of interaction.
  5. Lead hiring decisions - Oversee hiring, mentoring, and growth of the creative team, including promotions and internal development.
  6. Foster creativity - Inspire team participation in internal creative endeavors and influence the agency's overall creative culture.
  7. Lead concept development - Oversee design and creative work, partnering with other department heads to improve team capabilities.
  8. Ensure timely delivery - Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring quality and commercial success.
About You

The essentials: Minimum of 4 years in a Creative Director or equivalent role, with hands-on concept development and client interaction. Proven leadership of creative teams of 6 or more, with a strong creative point of view and attention to detail. Strong knowledge of layout, typography, and campaign writing. Ability to craft compelling stories and ideas.

Not a must, but a plus: Collaboration with strategic and production partners, awareness of current creative trends and platforms.

Our Commitment

We foster an inclusive environment that values diversity of perspectives. We actively promote equity and inclusion in our hiring processes. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who wish to contribute to our mission.

What We Offer

  • Generous PTO and holidays
  • 401k with company contribution
