VP, Group Account Director - Publications

Summary

The VP, Group Account Director oversees all aspects of an account management team, including managing and mentoring staff, initiating new programs, troubleshooting, facilitating communication, providing staffing reports, and contributing to new business development. Externally, the role involves maintaining client relationships, liaising with medical associations, and exploring new business opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations for assigned accounts
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded through ongoing communication and problem-solving
  • Develop knowledge of client organizations, products, and marketing goals
  • Oversee budgets, financial monitoring, and project reconciliation
  • Identify and pursue new business within current accounts
  • Hire, train, and evaluate account management staff
  • Update senior management on account activities and financials
  • Manage team workload and resources
  • Resolve conflicts within and between departments
  • Lead team meetings

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in science or business preferred.

  • Ability to grasp scientific concepts quickly
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and strong presentation skills
  • Business development skills
