Position Objective:

This position will be responsible for business results for the Ingersoll Rand Life Sciences – Biopharma & Pharma Solutions (BPS) business. The VPGM, BPS, will build and model a great company culture, provide inspired leadership to the team, establish a working relationship with the Ingersoll Rand leadership team, and set a course for company strategy. This position will lead a cross-functional business unit team (sales, operations, engineering, quality, HR, finance), oversee new business proposals, manage bookings, Profit and Loss accountability, develop and maintain customer relationships, establish the annual business plan, oversee operations to ensure good customer service and cost objectives are met, and handle contract negotiations.

Responsibilities:

  • Transform the company’s vision into a long-term strategy to pioneer new markets and revenue streams.
  • Focus on short-term results, forecast future revenue, and be accountable for both immediate success and long-term strategy.
  • Prioritize value creation through value-based pricing, continual cost improvement, and identifying profitable new business opportunities via market analysis.
  • Own the P&L fully, monitor financial performance against targets and budgets, and make timely decisions to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Guide a team of program managers, commercial personnel, engineers, and manufacturing staff to create intrinsic value.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and strategic plans.
  • Oversee fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Determine and execute strategic and tactical plans to secure profitable new business.
  • Negotiate sales and marketing contracts with public and private entities.
  • Create a culture of accountability by setting appropriate metrics and linking company performance and compensation to tangible results.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the business.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in a diverse, multi-country environment with P&L responsibilities.
  • Experience in building relationships with internal and external customers at high levels.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing growth strategies.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills; capable of developing strategies to maximize productivity and profitability.
  • Demonstrated dynamic leadership and change management abilities to foster a culture of accountability.
  • Bias for action and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Flexible and adaptable to demanding, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and foster trust.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MBA in a relevant discipline.
  • Travel requirements approximately 25-50%.
