Job summary

A global life sciences leader is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Global Tax Operations to own and optimize tax operations worldwide. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution to shape tax-efficient decisions across R&D, diagnostics, and manufacturing platforms.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of multinational tax experience, strong team leadership, and deep knowledge in international tax, tax accounting, and audits.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of tax experience within a multinational corporation and/or public accounting environment.
• Strong leadership experience managing global tax operations and developing high-performing teams.
• Deep expertise in:
• ASC 740 / tax accounting
• Effective tax rate forecasting and modeling
• International tax operations
• Tax audits and controversy
• Operational implementation of tax planning strategies
• Experience supporting large multinational organizations with extensive non-U.S. legal entity structures.
• Ability to partner effectively across corporate functions and influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to model tax rate impact and assess tax implications of business decisions, planning initiatives, and acquisitions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required; MST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead global tax operations and drive tax-efficient business decisions.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing tax team within a culture of internal mobility.
• Partner with finance, treasury, legal, supply chain, and senior leadership to embed tax in key business decisions.
• Navigate international entities and M&A activity, architecting tax strategies for a growing digital footprint.
• Support large multinational organizations with complex non-U.S. structures.
