Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Vice President – Full Stack Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑grade, cloud‑native applications using Java 17+ with Spring Boot, microservices, and Angular, deployed on Microsoft Azure with AKS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–9 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed system design.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with AKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience with Angular (preferred) or React.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure coding practices, and security frameworks such as NIST 800-53 is a plus.
• Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated industries is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• Build scalable cloud‑native microservices deployed on Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Design highly available, fault‑tolerant, and low‑latency distributed systems.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services supporting high‑throughput applications.
• Build and integrate event‑driven solutions using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Collaborate with architecture, platform, product, and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drive software quality through unit testing, automated testing, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor application health using APM tools, logging, metrics, and observability solutions.
• Apply secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Utilize AI‑assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging, and engineering productivity.
