Job summary

Finer Recruiting, LLC represents a US Investment Bank seeking a Vice President, Fixed Income Risk to partner with the firm’s principal businesses, particularly focused on structured products and securitized credit, in New York, NY.

The role will oversee risk across principal fixed income positions, collaborate with risk and trading teams, and drive scenario analysis and model portfolios in evolving markets over the next 3–5 years.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in fixed income risk, market risk, or trading.
• Strong understanding of structured products and securitized credit.
• Hands-on experience with VaR, stress testing, portfolio analytics, and risk modeling.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge the business when appropriate.
• Commercially minded, collaborative, and able to operate in a fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assess risk across principal fixed income positions and portfolios.
• Laisse with US bank team that runs daily VaR, stress scenarios, sensitivities, and portfolio-level exposures.
• Evaluate the risk implications of proposed and executed trades.
• Partner closely with principal trading, Market Risk, and Credit Risk teams.
• Challenge positions and strategies where risk is excessive, poorly understood, or inconsistent with the firm's risk appetite.
• Develop and analyze stress scenarios and model portfolios across different market environments.
• Work through complex risk questions with traders and the broader business, translating market moves into actionable risk assessments.
• Provide senior management with clear perspectives on portfolio risk, concentrations, and potential downside.
